lame lookbook

Christmas Parties; most of them are themed with which most people doesn't follow- not because they intend to just wear their usual Sunday Dresses or Cocktail Dresses, but because most Christmas Party themes are just, oh well lame, a bit conservative and boring.

Finally, Convergys had a fun theme going on, it's labeled DOMINATE, and you'd see on posters that it's linked to music genres- Hip Hop, R & B and House. Yay! Yeap, you're reading it right- House, my favorite (so far as I've got ecclectic taste).

I loved the theme but there was just too much going on in December so I didn't want to spend too much money on an outfit, so I rummaged through my sister's closet and settled with the La Senza Babydoll corset I've been eyeing to wear! My sister does not see it apt for the theme but hell I did, I'd like this more than the sample outfit posted in our lobby which I'd mistake for a Filipinia theme.

I'd say I pulled it off just fine and I was happy to see I was the only one wearing that (who else would dare wear something honeymoon- worthy, lol), some may find the combination off- I paired the pink over black top with a metallic leggings and leopard shoes but I could not care less- that' how I pictured it and I won't give a dam about color coherence- let confidence push it through!

Got people staring at me when I took off the sheer top, but I was thinking the whole SMX room was my stage, how about that, eh?

with my friend Chino, cute as ever.

I did not wear it like that though, I had a sheer top on top of it to have a hint of modesty.

I definitely had fun,  it always is exciting to experiment on clothing like turning a one piece swimsuit to a top worn under a skirt, mixing pieces others would veer away from combining. The most essential part of it all is confidence- wear it and you'd be able to pull anything off and it radiates not only on your outfit but onto your whole aura. :)

An Ode to Charlie

Waiting, this, we were taught well; we were told not to say the first "Hi," never to be caught glancing, never to show any hints of liking unless the guy shows inclinations of fondness first.

I screwed them all- these norms. Aren't they man- made? I came to think about it and it dawned on me that things they consider "out of the usual" are not at all bad, they are things people would wish they'd do but won't- for the fear of negative labels. I learned to know better, chased what I had to chase, said what I had to say and I was happy, I recall being after freeing emotions most people would just opt to keep; for the fear of being the only one to think that way, for the fear of being thought weird.

I am what I am, I'd speak my mind out, of course filtering words which are not pleasing, pondering on would- be actions before delivering them. I risked and fell then helped myself up and having known that pattern, I did not fear to risk again as I know I’d come standing right away each time I fall- with time’s promise of a new day, and with friends; with whom I share millions of laughter with, a ton- load of angst and sentiments, and a drink or two from time to time.

I patiently wait on things I know I am better off with God’s timing, and at the same time work on achieving what He has set for me to claim.
I am a woman and I am not bound to just keep on waiting. I make things happen. And I am not afraid.

The 7- Minute Quickie

for a barely- there Sunday Make- Up.

I can't be all- dolled up on church. Thus, I went out today with a natural- looking powder- and- blush only make- up (with a hint of brown eyeliner on the eyes and a sweep of mascara on my lashes).

Here's what's on my Sunday pouch (I would have different sets of face essentials depending on the day) but I did not use all of them):

I do not really spend too much money on Mascarra and eyeliner so here are two steals I discovered which does their job work in highlighting the eyes:

Shawill Mascarra; works even better than my Maybelline's. I'd definitely not purchase a mascara from Benefit, this'll do the lash- extension and curling just the same, no curler needed.

Nichido Eye Pencil in Pink Diamond: Use this on your lower lid and it'll transform your sleepy eyes to it's wide- awake form. Love it!

I cleansed then moisturized my face, primed it up using Loreal Base Magique. I then lined my upper lids, then Used Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer, applied Maybelline Cheeky Glow blush and set everything with powder, then used a Mascarra. Voila! I was ready to go out with a light feel- make up.

Before and After
I am writing this blog to also commend The Chic Closet for the recent purchase I made from them. I love the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer, I bough it at a BOGO offer; got Nude and Buff. It does not crease, does not oil up and can last for several hours. I especially like the extra effort that the Chic Closet puts in on the products, the owner would attach the Pink Cute label on the product, then even send it out with a Thank You note, little things like that really count on creating good relationship with buyers. Yay! There goes my Before and After Pic. The two pictures may not have the same lighting, but my under- eye area was definitely concealed unnoticeably.
